An extemporaneous entry
Approximately seven years ago, I lost my wife, my mom, my job and then had to relocate the crew (kids) to a much smaller ship (from a house to an apartment). Everything was in disarray. Despite moving away from their childhood school, I wanted to keep them there since at least that would be something that isn’t changing for the worst but would remain consistent.
Since then, I had been flying them halfway across the sector (city) to get them to Starfleet Academy (school). Initially we thought this was going to be temporary until we were able to get into a more permanent and suitable ship. Recovering my mental health and turning things around took much longer than I anticipated. Over the last couple years, the crew had become very restless about where we lived.
I was really hoping to get with someone in order to help us be able to afford a better ship and have someone that could be my emotional support. I haven’t found the latter but more importantly I finally was able to get us aboard a new ship, a Constitution class vessel (older house) that orbits so close to Starfleet Academy that each crew member could fly (walk) on their own vessel to get there.
This quadrant (neighborhood) is located in a picturesque area within the Federation. It’s quite the contrast from the very busy quadrant we came from. The ships closest to us seem very friendly. The excitement aboard the ship is palatable. It finally feels like we’ve turned a corner in our lives.
There’s still a number of repairs (cleaning and moving) that needs to happen aboard the other ship that we’re leaving before we’re fully disembarked. I’ve been spending a lot of federation credits and I’m just hopeful that I can continue. The docking fee (rent) is about double my previous ship so I might have to get a higher paid posting.
Aside from that I’m kind of excited about some of the research I’ve been doing. I actually submitted something to a scientific journal and if it’s actually is verified, I’m on to something huge!!! Plus, I think I have some other ideas that I’m thinking I will be diving into and maybe even starting a YouTube channel like I have envisioned for so long. I’ve been down for so long it actually feels kind of unusual to be up.
